A speciality from Lake Kivu

Did you know that the taste of African Arabica is entirely different from the taste of its Central American or Asian counterparts? It is what makes coffee lovers so keen to try out different single-origin coffees. This organically grown speciality from Congo is named after Lake Kivu, where Bourbon and Catuaí varieties are planted near the shores. The local farmers belong to the Sopacdi organisation, which markets coffee without intermediaries. To them, coffee is an important source of income in a country that is regrettably still affected by corruption and political instability. Filter coffee connoisseurs will appreciate this coffee’s fine aroma, ripe fruitiness and balanced body.
